SOHN turned to Affinity Strategies for guidance and support in expanding educational opportunities for its members. We recommended the development of a comprehensive textbook and journal series that we would encourage members to take advantage of.
We then used the following tactics to achieve our ultimate goal:
- Conducted a needs assessment by interviewing members about their content preferences.
- Engaged with subject matter experts and the board to determine the scope and framework for the content initiative and that it met education standards.
- Recruited authors and educators to create and compile content.
- Used a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and accuracy before publication.
- Provided members with access to content through the website, member portals and direct email.
As a result, SOHN saw:
- Improved access to specialized knowledge and resources for members which translated to professional development and career opportunities.
- Membership growth.
- Recognition as a leader in the field and a strengthened influence in the larger otolaryngology community.
